GeneralBeetronics treat the world to the bonkers-unique sound of a high-grade, multifarious boutique stompbox in the form of the Zzombee Filtremulator. This is the biggest project that Beetronics has embarked on yet, so you’re looking at a one-stop effect that’s home to a filter, a wah, an LFO, a cross-tremolo, swell, overdrive, fuzz and low-octave – all accessed via 100% analogue circuits. Essentially a less fussy yet super-potent take on a multi-effect, the Zzombee starts off by supplying a set of five strategically programmed presets so you can quickly get to know the range of on-board modulation effects and features. Control the modulation movement and ramping via a single footswitch and essentially kit yourself out with an extension of your instrument, whether you’ve hooked up a guitar, bass or synth.
Bee & Parasite Control: Unique Fuzz & Low-Octave Effects
The Parasite and Bee control pots work in parallel, so you can coat the effect in some fuzz and a low-octave to ground-shaking effect, while the Octave Tone control sets the octave volume. From there, the Rate/Ramp footswitch can be adjusted to Ramp Up or Ramp Down as preferred by double tapping the Bypass switch. This pedal comes loaded with so many options and surprises, it’s hard to fit it all into this paragraph so, to really get an idea of what the Zzombee is capable of, we recommend taking a dip into the user manual. In any case, what you’re getting is the high-quality performance of a hand-built boutique effects box.
